Find what works for you.

The NAWLS Small Bite for June 5th is

Find what works for you
Having WLS meant changing EVERYTHING about your life, and at first, it was a challenge learning how to take care of yourself. Then, perhaps, you entered a honeymoon phase. You knew what to do. You were feeling good, getting slimmer, and loving life. This phase is wonderful, and it lasts a long time for some people. For others, hunger returns more quickly. Living this new life gets harder and old habits return.

What will you do when you see old habits creeping back in? When you feel like you're slipping back, seek out and listen to the advice of others. Find out what works for them. But, then find what works for you. You know best what you will be willing to do long term. Summon the courage to take that knowledge and build a successful post-WLS life.

Action for the day:
Have you thought about how you'll handle the post-honeymoon phase? Today, in your journal, explore your options and identify the people you will turn to for advice. What might work for you?
