Switch your focus from desire to gratitude

The NAWLS Small Bite for April 17th is

Switch your focus from desire to gratitude.
So many times we whine about what we don't have. Yet, if we had all that we wished for we would probably have more than we could handle. Most of us have more than we need, and many of us have more than we will need in a lifetime. Are you thankful for what you have?

Each day is a gift. Each day you wake up under a roof with clothes to wear, enough food to eat, and electricity, makes you richer than most people in the world. But, despite what you have, do you desire more?  Of course we are deserving of all that we have, and desires are motivating. Your desires inspire you to take on challenges and enrich your being. But when your desires leave you blind to the things you already have, and you begin to live for what you don't have--you aren't living well. Be thankful for what you have, and thankful for your desires that can motivate you in a healthy way.

Action for the day:
Today in your journal, make a new gratitude list. You just can't write too many of these mood-changing lists!
