Give your suffering a purpose.

The NAWLS Small bite for March 16th is

Give your suffering a purpose.
We all have pain and suffering in our lives. What distinguishes us as individuals is how we respond to our suffering. some people use food, alcohol, shopping, or other addictions to mask the pain. Others live in anger and depression. Some feel an overwhelming sense of self pity.

All of these emotions and coping behaviours are common, but masking the pain does not allow you to overcome it.  You have to create purpose for it, or you cannot come to terms with it. When faced with sorrow, you can choose to grow from the experience both emotionally and spiritually. Just know you are not alone in your suffering. What can you do to give your suffering a purpose?

Action for the day:
Meditiate on your suffereing, How can you use the experience to become a better person? To help others?
